On Monday, during Apple’s Spring Forward Apple Watch event, the luxury brand’s CEO, Tim Cook announced the birth of the New MacBook 2015. I can’t help but picture Tim as Rafiki and the MacBook as Simba - less dramatic, but the excitement was surely at that level.

According to Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, the new MacBook weighs only 0.9 kg and measures at a 13.1mm – yup, that’s ridiculously light.

With its fanless design, ultra-thin Retina display and full-size keyboard and not forgetting the all-new Force Touch trackpad, versatile USB-C port, it is already being dubbed ‘the future of the notebook’.

The New MacBook 2015 will only be available from 10 April through Apple Online Store, Apple Retail Store and Apple Authorised Resellers.

So, I bet you’re wondering how much this bad boy costs? Oh just £1,049 (R19 325.13).

So will you be joining the MacBook crew? Let us know!
