However, if you are looking for something more scenographic, yet quite simple for your long locks, the fishtail style is the perfect choice.
If you are not sure how to do a fish braid, don't worry.
Moroccanoil has put together a glam hair tutorial on how to perfect your fishtail braid; the final result is very chic and sophisticated; perfect to rock during the day or night.
Step 1: Cleanse your hair
It's always best to try a new hairstyle on clean hair.
Step 2: Prep your hair
If you wash your hair before hand, it is a good idea to use a treatment in your hair before blow drying it, to protect it from the heat. To add a full body look to your hair, use a volumising mousse to the hair before blow drying.
Step 3: Sectioning and braiding front braid
Once your hair is dry, take a 2 - 3 inch wide section of hair on the thicker side of your hair parting. Split the section in half. Take two small pieces from the outside of each section and cross them to the opposite side. Continue this process going down. Once you have almost completed the, use a hair pin to keep the top braid from unraveling.
Step 4: Sectioning and braiding back braid
Take a section of hair from the crown of the head and divide it into 2 sections. Take two small pieces from the outside of each section and cross them to the opposite side, just like with the top braid. Continue this process while picking up hair from the front which has not been braided yet.
Step 5: Combine the front and back braid
Take the front braid and weave it into the back braid. Once done secure the braid with with a hair tie. Use a hair pin to secure the front braid in place. You can pull out pieces of the braid to loosen the look and pull the braid outward to expand its volume.
Step 6: Finish the look
Make sure your braid stays flawless by using hair spray to strengthen the hold.
