It’s virtually impossible to tell the difference between this mother and daughter.
With their luscious locks, svelte figures and glowing skin Joleen Diaz (43) and Meilani Parks (19) could be twins.
And quite often they are mistaken for being siblings!
“I don't think she minds [people mistaking us for sisters],” Joleen says of her daughter.
“While she was growing up, she’d often hear people tell me they thought my mother was my sister.”
Joleen puts her youthful glow down to clean living, The Sun writes.
“I’ve always lived a healthy, active lifestyle. I rarely drink alcohol, I get a lot of rest and eat a balanced, healthy diet,” she said, adding that she’d started taking care of her skin when she was 12.
“I religiously take care of my skin and everyday wash my face in the morning and before I go to bed.”
Apart from a strict skin routine, she recommends adopting a relaxed attitude.
“I’m pretty pragmatic and try not to worry too much about the past or anticipate worries in the future,” said Joleen, who amicably split from her partner 13 years ago.
“I live a pretty simple life and I’m content with what I have.”
The mom and daughter, both from northern California in the US, share a close bond.
“We do lots of things together – travel, shop, work out. And sometimes just lie on the couch and talk,” said Joleen, who is a teacher.
According to Mail Online, she has already imparted her skin care routine to her daughter.
“Having good skin gives me confidence, even on the days I don’t look my best,” Joleen explains.
She says sunscreen is of the utmost importance.
“Living in California, sun protection is naturally key. I absolutely use sunscreen, every day, even on cloudy, rainy days. I also use a vitamin C serum day and night.”
She might look 20 years younger than she is, but that doesn’t mean Joleen join in the activities of youngsters.
“Meilani and I have never gone clubbing or partying together,” she says.
“And I don’t foresee us doing that anytime in the near future.”
She prefers a good, cosy night in, she says.
“I’ve had my share of doing both. These days I’d rather stay home, drink a nice cup of hot tea, and watch a good movie.”
