What do you do when you spot a Hollywood A-lister casually walking around your kids’ campus? You hit up social media of course!

Angelina Jolie caused a stir when she dropped in at daughter Zahara’s Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, for a visit.

As mother and daughter strolled around campus, bystanders could barely contain their excitement, with some posting selfies on social media they managed to get with the A-lister.

“Angelina Jolie just casually walking around with her daughter at Spelman during Homecoming. (I was doing community service looking an embarrassing mess),” wrote one.

Another gushed how gorgeous the 49-year-old looked in person. The star opted for a simple yet elegant black outfit with a camel-coloured coat tied around her waist.

“I really met Angelina Jolie. The original bad b****. And she’s FLAWLESS in person. My day is complete, thanks Spelhouse.”

One youngster found a clever way to be low-key with his selfie.

“Look I know you’re tryna be inconspicuous, so when we take this selfie just look down instead of me holding the camera up. Cool?” he told the star.

“Great plan!” Angie quipped.

His post quickly racked up over 153 000 likes and received more than 7 000 retweets.

In July, Angelina announced that her eldest daughter would be attending the historically black college.

In an Instagram post, which featured an image of Zahara (17) with some of her college mates, she wrote, “Zahara with her Spelman sisters! Congratulations to all new students starting this year. A very special place and an honour to have a family member as a new Spelman girl.”

Meanwhile in other news, Angelia is set to play the late great opera singer Maria Callas in a new film.

She'll play the American-born Greek soprano, who famously had an affair with Greek shipping heir Aristotle Onassis and later died alone in Paris from a heart attack at the age of 53, in a new biopic entitled Maria.

The film will be directed by Chilean director Pablo Larraín (Jackie), with a screenplay by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), and will tell the “tumultuous, beautiful and tragic story of the life of the world’s greatest opera singer, reimagined during her final days in 1970s Paris”.

“I take very seriously the responsibility to Maria's life and legacy and I will give all I can to meet the challenge,” Angie told The Hollywood Reporter, adding that Larraín is a director she's long admired.
