As a little girl she wanted to become a forest ranger. If not that, a zookeeper, she decided. But the world of showbiz would’ve lost a gem if she was allowed to pursue those careers – and fans would never have had the chance to experience Betty White in all her cheeky glory. 

The actress died on 31 December at age 99, a few days shy of her 100th birthday. And right up to the end she displayed the wit that won her fans across all ages.
