After wearing a turtleneck for three months, rapper Machine Gun Kelly has finally revealed what he’s been hiding: a blackout tattoo.
The 33-year-old posted a topless photo on social media with the caption “for spiritual purposes only” – showcasing the new tattoo that covers his arms, shoulders, torso and entire chest area.
His fans were divided with some loving the new artwork while others felt concerned and saddened that the rapper had covered his “iconic” tattoos which represented years of memories and landmark life events.
Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), whose real name is Colson Baker, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share that 44 needles were used on him to finish the tattoo.
The Bloody Valentine artist started getting tattoos from the age of 14 and the new blackout one covers most of them.
A day after his blackout tattoo was revealed, he released his latest song titled Don’t Let Me Go in which he admits to having “a breakdown” before getting his new tattoo.
“I had a breakdown and tatted my entire body except one line,” he raps in the song.

The song also delves into his suicidal thoughts, his struggles in his relationship with fiancée Megan Fox (37), the death of his father and the constant pressure he feels being in Hollywood.
“Lately my thoughts eating me alive — laid in the bed thinking maybe the hate will finally go away if I’m not alive,” he says in his song.
The Rap Devil rapper shared details in his 2022 Disney+ documentary, Life in Pink, about how he once “snapped” and put a loaded shotgun in his mouth while on the phone with Megan.
“I called Megan. I was like, ‘You aren’t here for me.’ I’m in my room and I’m, like, freaking out on her. Dude, I put the shotgun in my mouth. And I’m yelling on the phone and like the barrels in my mouth. And I go to cock the shotgun and the bullet, as it comes back up, the shell just gets jammed. Megan’s like dead silent,” he recalled.
This came after his father, James Colson Baker, died in 2020 of a “non Covid-19-related illness”.
“It sucks because I really just want to just scream and cry and sit in my room and just wait for someone to come tell me it’s going to be all good,” he told the New York Times at the time.
In his new track he also raps about Megan’s miscarriage 10 weeks into their pregnancy.
“How can I live with the fact that my hand wasn’t on her stomach when we lost the baby?” he asks.
Back in November, the Transformer actress revealed her miscarriage in her poetry book Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.
Megan wrote about the ultrasound of a baby girl at 10 weeks and a day and said: “maybe if you hadn't . . . maybe if I had . . .”
She continued, “I want to hold your hand, hear your laugh, but now, I have to say, goodbye," and later added, "I close my eyes and imagine holding you tight against my chest as they rip you from my insides."

Megan has said it was MGK, with whom she's been in an on-off relationship since 2020, who encouraged her to put her feelings on paper.
