It's supposed to hit shelves in October, but the much-anticipated memoir by Britney Spears, The Woman in Me, has reportedly sparked unhappiness from two of her famous exes.

According to sources, lawyers working for Justin Timberlake (42) and Colin Farrell (47) threatened to sue the singer unless she deleted certain passages.

“Lawyers demanded to see her book in advance and were adamant that some of the revelations were removed,” an insider told British tabloid The Sun. “There are still plenty of gobsmacking tales, but Justin and Colin were conscious about what could be said about them.'

Eventually, the matter was resolved, but it caused a four-month delay to the book's publication.

Britney (41) dated Justin, who is now married to actress Jessica Biel, from 1999 to 2002 and was rumoured to have gotten together with Colin in 2003, speculation the Irish actor has denied.

She is now married to personal trainer/actor Sam Asghari (29), whom she wed last year.

The book's publisher, Gallery, describes it as “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope”.

It goes into detail about Britney’s tumultuous personal life, including her 12 years of conservatorship under her father, Jamie Spears, which ended in 2021.

"The book gives Britney the chance to tell her own story, and while it certainly hasn't been easy, it will be incredibly enlightening for her fans," says a source.

Britney announced she was penning a book in February 2022.

“Well I'm writing a book at the moment and as it's actually healing and therapeutic,” she wrote on Instagram. “It's also hard bringing up past events in my life . . . I've never been able to express openly!!!”

The star's troubled life is no secret, and recently there was speculation she was on drugs. The rumours were fuelled by her often bizarre social media posts, which regularly feature her dancing around semi-naked.

Her ex-husband, Kevin Federline (45), with whom she has sons Preston (17) and Jaden (16), reportedly said she was on crystal meth. Britney shot down the allegation in a lengthy Instagram post, calling the claims “so sad” and “untrue”.

Last month she was involved in another headline-making incident when she claimed to have been “backhanded” by the bodyguard of Victor Wembanyama as she tried to tap the NBA star on the shoulder as he walked through a hotel in Las Vegas.

She filed a charge of battery. However, an investigation by the police concluded that no charges would be brought as they determined that Britney inadvertently “hit herself in the face” when someone pushed her hand off Victor, who stands at a staggering 2,26m.

On a far brighter note, she has just released some new music.

The track, Mind Your Business, sees her teaming up with Will.I.Am. It's about people’s obsession with her and her experiences with the paparazzi.

The Black Eyed Peas singer, who collaborated with Britney before on the 2013 hit Scream and Shout, gave her a shoutout on Instagram, calling her one of the “most fearless, strongest, kindest, purest people I've met in my life”.

The last time Britney released music was in 2022, when she collaborated with Elton John on the hit track Hold Me Closer.
