Victoria Beckham doesn’t make any compromises when it comes to her diet – not even at a celebrity wedding where the menu was designed and prepared by a Michelin-starred chef.

Spanish chef Dani Garcia (46) says Victoria made him provide her with her own unique menu at the June 2019 wedding reception of soccer star Sergio Ramos and reporter and TV presenter Pilar Rubio.

The chef, who has three Michelin stars, says her “complicated” dinner demands included coconut water to be available "all of the time", bowls of mints, and disinfectant hand gel, which was an unusual request considering it was before the pandemic.

“It was very sad, because when you make such an effort, not just me and my team, but the bride and groom and everyone else, to create a unique menu,” he says of the fact Victoria refused to eat what everyone else was served.

Dani says that Victoria's preferred menu was, “totally different, and just based around vegetables”.

He said it was "complicated giving Victoria her menu that night".

But a source close to the former Spice Girls member disputes Dani’s version of the story.

“This makes a great story but isn’t fair or accurate – the most Victoria would've done when asked about her dietary requirements is to ask for some plain fish and vegetables."

Victoria’s has eaten only one meal a day, fish and vegetables, for the past 25 years. The mother of four has said that she doesn't eat red meat, dairy or food cooked in oil or butter, and she prefers her fish grilled and vegetables steamed.

The only time Victoria did try eating something different was when she was pregnant with daughter Harper, recalled her husband, David Beckham.

“I can’t remember what it was but I know she’s not eaten it since,” he said, adding that the meal had been one of his favourite evenings.

“Since I met her, she only eats grilled fish and steamed vegetables. She'll very rarely deviate from that.”

Victoria's diet fads over the years have become a topic of discussion. During the UEFA Euro 2004 Championship, she stuck to a diet of only strawberries and mineral water.

“To most restaurants, I'm probably their worst nightmare,” she recently admitted.

While many of us might indulge in fast food every now and then, Victoria's preferred comfort food is a slice of wholegrain toast with salt.

“It’s that carbohydrate that makes you feel comforted and I love salt,” she says.
