Chrissy Teigen says Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, offered her words of comfort after she and her husband, musician John Legend, lost their son last year.

Chrissy was 20 weeks pregnant when she lost her baby, Jack, in a traumatic miscarriage.

The model, cookbook author and influencer shared her experience with Meghan on the Watch What Happens Live! show.

“Yeah, she’s been so kind to me ever since we connected,” Chrissy told Andy Cohen.

“She had written me about baby Jack. But yeah, she is really wonderful and so kind. Just as kind as everyone says she is.

“That's why you look at everything and you're like, ‘My god, what is absolutely wrong with people that they have to make this person out to be so malicious or so crazy?’ When it's just as simple as them being as kind as everyone says they are.”

She also said it took her a while to watch Meghan and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“I think when I ended up watching it, it was like, ‘Holy s**t, this is big’. But also I waited a long time to watch it, so I'd already heard so much about it.”

When Andy asked whether Meghan spilled “extra tea” during their conversation, Chrissy denied knowing anything that isn’t already public.

“No. I think she's been very honest [and] open. I think her truth has been her truth since the very beginning.”

After losing Jack, Chrissy opened up about it on social media. She said her biggest regret was choosing not to look at his face when he was born.

“I was so scared of seeing him in my nightmares that I forgot about seeing him in my dreams,” she says on Instagram. “I hurt every day from that remorse.”

If there’s anyone who understands what the model went through it’s the Duchess of Sussex. Meghan had a miscarriage in July last year and in a candid essay in the New York Times, she wrote that she felt a sharp cramp after changing toddler son Archie’s diaper one morning.

“I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right.

“I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.”

Happily, Meghan is pregnant again and is expected to deliver a sister for Archie in about two months’ time.

It’s not the first time Chrissy and Meghan have interacted. Back in 2006 both appeared on game show Deal or No Deal and once again Chrissy had nothing but nice things to say about her.

“I remember her just being very quiet and sweet,” Chrissy said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “Just really kind. And I don’t say that about anybody.”
