He found a passion for cooking during lockdown, so Brooklyn Beckham decided to turn his hobby into a job.

The 22-year-old has launched an online cooking show called Cookin’ with Brooklyn.

The series will air on Facebook Messenger and Instagram and will see Brooklyn working alongside top chefs as they teach him the ins and outs of the kitchen.

In the first episode, which dropped recently, the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham treats his younger sibling, Romeo (19), and future brother-in-law Zach (18) to a plate of steamed clams with pasta and stone crab.

“I’m not a chef yet,” Brooklyn tells the camera in one of the opening scenes.

“This is the very start of my food journey. I love making food for people that I love. I’m going to work my a**e off and see where I can get.”

He then whips up the dish using dry white wine, butter, shallots, lemon, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper.

Romeo jokes that the meal was “alright” while Zach, who is the brother of Brooklyn’s fiancée Nicola Peltz, adds that he’s “mildly impressed”.

“All the brothers give me a hard time!” Brooklyn tells the camera. “We joke around a lot but at the end of the day we all love each other.”

In the episode the boys also discuss some Beckham family Christmas traditions.

“My dad usually buys us all matching outfits,” Brooklyn reveals.

“And we’ll put some carrots, milk, whiskey – our Santa likes whiskey – and mince pies out.”

It’s not the first time Brooklyn has been paid for a pastime.

After realising he had a love for photography, the UK-born son of a soccer star enrolled as a student at Parsons School of Design in New York. But he dropped out in 2018 after feeling homesick.

Despite this, Brooklyn still landed the internship of a lifetime when he worked with legendary photographer Rankin in 2019.

At the time an insider revealed Brooklyn’s performance at the company was lacklustre.

“Everyone knew Brooklyn’s work needed finetuning but no one knew his knowledge of the simplest tasks was so off,” the source said.

“Everyone had high hopes for him but it's not been the most impressive start.”

Before jetting off to study in the Big Apple, Brooklyn shot a fragrance campaign for luxury brand Burberry. Many slammed the gig as “sheer nepotism” and said having it fall into his lap was contrary to Brand Beckham which represents hard work and determination.

“David and Victoria Beckham represent sheer willpower. . . and then their son comes along and it’s sheer nepotism,” fashion photographer Chris Floyd said at the time.

“He hasn’t done it from hard work which is counterintuitive to what his parents represent.”

But Brooklyn seems set on doing things his way and has no qualms about using his famous surname to get ahead in his career.

His latest move has – unsurprisingly – upset many people.

“So why don’t you just go to culinary school and learn the craft? Take some advice and stop expecting things on a plate just because of your surname,” one user commented.

While another added: “Photography. . . now ‘cooking’. Nepotism is a powerful tool for the famous.”
