It was undoubtedly the biggest celebrity wedding of the year but there were a few missing faces at the nuptials of Jennifer Lopez (50) and Ben Affleck (53). Most notably absent was Ben’s actor brother, Casey, immediately setting tongues wagging about the state of their relationship.
Just hours before the lavish three-day event kicked off in Georgia, Casey was seen out and about in Los Angeles. When asked by reporters why he wasn’t going, the Oscar-winner, who didn't seem keen to talk, just said, “I have other things.”
Sources told People magazine that the 47-year-old, who has two children with ex-wife and actress Summer Phoenix, had “family and parental obligations”.
On the surface, there doesn’t appear to be any trouble between the brothers, who previously worked together on movies such as Gone Baby Gone, Good Will Hunting and Chasing Amy. But, of course, who really knows?
Casey did however make the effort to publicly welcome the singer and actress into their “dysfunctional” family.
“Good things are worth waiting for. Here's to twists and turns, new beginnings, and finding new reservoirs of old love,” he wrote on Instagram a day later.
“Welcome to the family. Get ready for some real dysfunction! Kidding. I am kidding. Jen, you are a gem. We love you so much!”
Ben’s ex, actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three kids, also couldn’t attend the ceremony, which was held on the actor’s plantation estate in Riceboro, Georgia.
But it was reportedly due to a scheduling conflict and nothing else. She was invited but wasn’t able to make it as she was filming in Texas.
According to a source, Jen wished her ex and JLo, who first made things official in a quickie wedding in Las Vegas in July, “all the best”.

Their children Violet (16), Seraphina (13) and Samuel (10) attended, though, as did Ben’s mother, Christopher Anne “Chris” Boldt.
At one stage it looked like the 80-year-old wouldn't make the nuptials after she fell and hurt her leg at her son’s home. She had to be rushed to hospital, but still attended the ceremony, albeit with stitches.
Ben’s father, Timothy Affleck (72), who divorced his mother when Ben was young, reportedly because of a drinking problem, appeared to be absent. However, it could've been due to his age and a fear of flying. Ben previously said in an interview that his father has to drive to see his grandkids as “he has positional vertigo, and if he flies he gets really dizzy”.
Many of Ben’s close friends were there, including his best friend from childhood, Matt Damon, and director Kevin Smith.
None of JLo’s three ex-husbands, Ojani Noa (48), Cris Judd (53) and Marc Anthony (53), were there.
Marc, her most recent husband and the father of her 14-year-old twins, Max and Emme, was spotted in Miami, having just finished a huge tour in Europe.
It’s highly unlikely her first husband, Cuban-born waiter Ojani, or second husband, American dancer Cris, even received invites. Ojani, who was briefly married to the singer in the mid-90s, would certainly not hav cracked the nod, given his recent predictions that their marriage is doomed.

"I’m happy she's gone back to Ben but I have a feeling this won’t last," he said. "I think she’s someone who’ll be married seven or eight times. I can’t see her ever settling down with one person."
