British TV personality Simon Cowell has made his first public appearance since revealing he’s laid off on "tweakments" such as fillers, Botox and extreme facials.

Arriving at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California, sporting a full beard, Simon turned heads as he posed with fellow America’s Got Talent judges Sofía Vergara, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and presenter Terry Crews.

Although their show won the award for favourite reality series, the real attention-grabber was Simon’s more natural appearance.

The 62-year-old recently said he'd turned his back on Botox and fillers after it left him looking like “something out of a horror film”. The record producer's wakeup call came when he saw an old picture of himself.

“There was a stage where I might've gone a bit too far,” Simon says.

“I saw a picture of me from before, the other day, and didn’t recognise it as me first of all.”

He says he was prompted to make the change after his appearance had left Eric (8), his son with fiancée Lauren Silverman (44), in hysterics.

“Enough was enough,” he says.

“There's no filler in my face at all now. Zero.”

For years Simon has openly spoken about his bid to do anything possible to maintain a youthful appearance.

He once admitted to getting a sheep-placenta facial, which uses stem cells derived from a sheep and promises to be an anti-aging and rejuvenating treatment.

In 2018 he opted for a silhouette soft facelift. This non-surgical alternative to the traditional facelift is a minimally invasive technique used to lift and tighten sagging tissue in the lower face.

“It hurts like hell but it gets rid of sun damage and unplugs all the c**p,” he said at the time.

“It’s all about having clean skin. If you have clean skin, you look better. But you have to be careful with some of this stuff.”

As it turns out, Simon wasn’t as careful as he should've been and admits he went a bit overboard.

“There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other,” he says, adding that he calls those The Botox Years.

“I love watching The Botox Years. All of us are like, ‘We had a lot that year. Not so much that year . . .  Maybe a bit too much that year’.”

Now that he's decided against going under the needle, Simon keeps his skin healthy and refreshed by paying closer attention to his diet.

“For me now, a lot of it comes down to healthy eating and drinking tons of water,” he says.
