Tales of Keanu Reeves kindness are as epic as his most famous films.

But while the publicity-shy superstar prefers to keep his charitable side under wraps, the recipients of his kindness have no problem sharing the good deeds he's done for them.

Recently he gave each of his four-man stunt team personalised Rolex Submariner watches after wrapping up filming of his latest film, John Wick: Chapter 4.

Bruce Concepcion, Jeremy Marinas, Dave Camarillo and Li Qiang were blown away when he treated them to dinner in Paris before handing them the gifts, which were all engraved with a message from the actor.

Jeremy was so thrilled with the timepiece he shared a pic to social media, calling it the “best wrap gift ever.”

This isnt the first time Keanu has thanked the people who make him look good.

Back in 2002, he bought Harley-Davidson motorcycles for the 12 stuntmen who worked with him on a particularly gruelling scene in The Matrix Reloaded.

"I just wanted to give a bigger thank you to all these guys who helped me make this, I think, one of the great movie fights in the history of cinema," he said at the time.

The 57-year-old actor has never been shy about showing his appreciation for fans and worthy causes.

Here are a few random acts of kindness that have melted hearts in the past:

In July 2019, while filming Bill and Ted Face the Music, Keanu spotted a sign on the front lawn of someone's home in Louisiana, where the movie was being filmed. "You're breathtaking," the sign read.

The actor hopped out of his car to meet and greet fans, before posing for some snaps. He also autographed the sign and left a message for superfan Stacey, writing, "Stacey, you're breathtaking".

The phrase was a reference to Keanu's appearance at the E3 convention when a fan yelled “you’re breathtaking" as he walked on stage.

Then there was the time he bought an ice-cream just so he could get a receipt to autograph. To this day, James Dator is a fan of the film star and says it's the sweetest thing a Hollywood heavyweight has ever done for him.

In March 2019, when his plane was forced to make an emergency landing, the actor mingled with fellow passengers, took pictures, played country music and organised transport to San Francisco.

Keanu certainly doesn't mind getting his hands dirty when it comes to spreading goodwill. When a woman was left stranded on the side of the road after her car broke down a few years ago, he didn't think twice to pull up beside her and jumpstart her car.

"When it didn’t work, he called AAA for her," the woman's friend later said. "When they towed her car, he offered her to drive her home, which she accepted. He drove about 80km out of his way just to drive her home."

Though the woman had hoped he would hit on her, the actor was ever the gentleman, her friend says. "He dropped her at her house, gave her his phone number and told her to call him if she needed further help."

If that's not enough to warm your heart, Keanu has for years been secretly funding children's hospitals and cancer research.

“I have a private foundation that's been running for five or six years," he said in 2009. "I don't like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does."

In Hollywood where superstars are largely seen as self-absorbed, his down-to-earth nature makes him a breath of fresh air.

Though it's easy to see why fans consider him their internet boyfriend, Keanu himself doesn't get all the hype. "That's wacky," he says of the internet's obsession with him. "[But] the positivity's great."
