Blue Ivy's proven one thing recently: like her famous mom, she's no quitter.
The 11-year-old's surprise performance on Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour became a talking point for those who attended the show and fans on social media.
Blue Ivy first performed when she joined her award-winning mother’s tour in Paris in May but people weren't convinced by her early dance moves.
Blue showed up on stage dazzling in silver alongside her mom’s backup dancers as Beyoncé sang My Power.
In the new concert film, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, Bey shared how negative online comments about the performance affected her daughter.
The movie is a documentary and concert film, meaning it depicts the live show as well as the behind-the-scenes goings-on.
The 42-year-old superstar said her daughter was determined to prove her critics wrong and she is putting in a lot of hard work to improve her dancing.
Blue’s performance on the tour was initially intended only to be a one-time thing.
In the film Beyoncé explained, “She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no.”
Though she finally relented, Beyoncé was dismayed when Blue Ivy read social media comments criticising her moves. But it thrilled her mother that instead of quitting, she decided to put in the work and train even harder for future stops, The New York Times reported.
Fans on social media also commented on her improvement.
“Seeing her confidence grow throughout this tour has been such a treat,” a fan commented.
“Watching her confidence grow has made me so proud! She's improved so much,” another fan said.

Jay-Z (53) also shared on CBS Mornings last month how proud he was of Blue. “I still get goosebumps seeing her walk onstage.”
“She’s been born into a life she didn’t ask for. So, since she was born, she’s been in the public eye, and everyone has an opinion of even a little girl and how she keeps her hair," he said. "So, for her to be on that stage and reclaim her power, and the song is called My Power, you can’t write a better script."

Beyoncé's mom, Tina Knowles (69), also spoke of the pride she has in her granddaughter.
"She is 11 years old, and she had one week to prepare, and she's just getting better and better," said Tina. "So, I'm the proud grandma, always," before adding that Blue Ivy “is having the time of her life and I couldn't be prouder of her because she really worked hard.”
Tina has also leapt to her daughter's defence recently.
Tina posted on Instagram how she'd been seeing posts about how Beyoncé appears "whiter" and wants to be "white".
For the premiere of her new film, Beyoncé wore a glamorous sparkling sliver gown designed by Donatella Versace and a long, platinum wig. Others claimed she was copying Kim Kardashian and bashed her for looking like a “Kim K/Cher hybrid."
In the post, Tina addresses Beyoncé's look in the context of the overall theme of Renaissance.
"Came across this today and decided to post it after seeing all of the stupid ignorant self-hating racist statements about her, lightening her skin, and wearing platinum hair wanting to be white," the post said.
"She does a film, called the Renaissance, where the whole theme is silver with silver hair, a silver carpet, and suggested silver attire and you bozos decide that she's trying to be a white woman and is bleaching her skin?"
The superstar's mother defended her daughter and pointed out that many black women have worn platinum hair since the "Etta James days".
She went on to speak of how Beyoncé is always helping people, promoting black women and helping underdogs.
"I am sick of you losers. I know that she is going to be pissed at me for doing this, but I am fed up! This girl minds her own business," Tina said.
