It’s not often you get to see all six of Madge’s kids together. There was no way they were going to miss their famous mom’s birthday celebrations, which took place in Italy recently.
Lourdes (24), whose father is American fitness trainer Carlos Leon; Rocco (21) from her marriage to British filmmaker Guy Ritchie; David Banda (15); Mercy James (15); and eight-year-old twins, Estere and Stella, who she adopted from Malawi, all surrounded their mom for the rare family snap.
“Under the spell of the Byzantine Empire,” the pop star captioned it, which also happened to be the theme of her party.
As a result most of the guests were dressed up in elaborate Roman-inspired apparel albeit with designer tags.
Determined not to be upstaged, Madge wore a mermaid-print dress from Burberry which she paired with an ornate headpiece, Miu Miu heels and a cross-shaped necklace from Dolce & Gabbana.
Although the location of the party wasn’t revealed, going by the stone walls in the background it looked like it might have taken place in a cave.
Madonna, who Forbes estimated to be worth a staggering $851 million (about R12,6 billion) this year, reportedly flew in family and friends, including BFF actress Debi Mazar, to Italy to share her special day with her.
“Let the Birthday Games Begin,” she captioned another series of photos from the party, which saw her sharing an ice-cream with her 27-year-old boyfriend, Ahlamalik Williams.
Debi (57), who has been friends with Madonna since they both started out in New York in the early 1980s, told Page Six last year that Ahlamalik is “lovely” and he and Madge are “sweet together”.
Ahlamalik was only 20 when Madonna hired him as a back-up dancer for her 2015 Rebel Heart Tour.
He went on to dance in all her shows but things only turned romantic in 2018.
Since then he’s regularly appeared on her Instagram where their 36-year age gap continues to raise eyebrows. But it’s nothing Madge isn’t used to, having dated plenty of toyboys in her time.
Ahlamalik’s parents also don’t seem particularly concerned. In 2019 his father Drue told TMZ, “Love has no age. My son is livin’ la vida loca, and I’m just happy for him.”
By all accounts it appears Ahlamalik gets on well with her kids. He is said to be particularly close to David and was seen giving the youngster a friendly hug at one of his soccer matches in Los Angeles earlier this year.
At the start of 2020 he joined Madge and her kids during a stay on a private island where he was seen hanging out and playing with the children on the beach.
