Fans thought he might finally have found his happy ever after when he became engaged to Molly Hurwitz – but alas, Matthew Perry is on his own once more.
The 51-year-old Friends stay and talent manager Molly (29) got together in 2018 and enjoyed a low-key romance. Seven months ago they announced they were engaged.
“Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time,” Matthew said at the time.
However, things are all over now. “Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them,” Matthew told People. “I wish Molly the best.”
News of the split comes just a few weeks after he was outed flirting with a 19-year-old on celebrity-dating app Raya.
“Am I as old as your dad?” he asked her.
This isn’t his first encounter with other women on the membership-only app – in 2020 TikTok user Kate Haralson posted a video that also shows the actor flirting with her.
“When you match w Matthew Perry as a joke on a dating app and he facetimes you and plays 20 questions with you [sic],” she captioned the clip.
Kate was consequently booted off the app for breaking its privacy rules.
Friends of Matthew are worried about what the end of his relationship with Molly might mean. Matthew has a long and complicated relationship with substance abuse and Molly had been credited with keeping him on the straight and narrow.
“Molly is a fun and quirky girl,” one source says. “She’s not a hard partier and has been a good influence on him.”
Matthew made headlines again recently after he appeared to be slurring his words on the Friends Reunion show. He also looked unhealthy and a little off the pace.

The show's producers have come forward to say it was as a result of dental work he’d had undergone and not anything more sinister than that.
“People can sometimes just be unkind. I wish they weren’t. I loved working with him,” says director Ben Winston.
Although this was Matthew’s first engagement, we take a look at some of his most memorable romances.
Julia Roberts
Matthew and Julia Roberts dated in 1995 after they met on the set of Friends. They broke up after a year.

He started dating Yasmine shortly thereafter but their romance lasted only a couple of months.

Matthew briefly stepped out with the star in 1998.
Lauren Graham
A short relationship with former Gilmore Girls star followed in 2003. Things didn’t last but they remained good friends.

He dated Mean Girls star Lizzy Caplan from 2006 to 2012 – his longest relationship to date. It’s believed Matthew’s unwillingness to settle down was behind the split.
