The woman who allegedly had an affair with David Beckham (48) in 2003 has finally spoken out after the Beckhams mentioned the affair in their new Netflix docuseries.

Rebecca Loos (47) was David’s personal assistant when he was playing for Spanish football club Real Madrid.

She says David has portrayed himself as the victim. “He can say whatever he likes of course and I understand he has an image to preserve, but he is portraying himself as the victim and he’s making me look like a liar, like I’ve made up these stories,” Rebecca told Daily Mail

The Netflix docuseries, Beckham, was released earlier this month. It looks at the retired football player’s rise to stardom and his family life.

In one episode, David and his wife, Victoria (49), discuss the allegations that he'd had an affair, which made headlines 20 years ago.

“Victoria’s everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult. But we're fighters. And at that time, we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for,’’ David said.

Victoria described it as “the hardest period for us”.

“Because it felt like the world was against us. And here’s the thing: We were against each other, if I'm being completely honest,” she said in the episode.

At the time of the alleged affair David had left Victoria with their sons Brooklyn (24) and Romeo (21) in England.

The couple later had Cruz (18) and Harper (12).

It was reported that their marriage was on the rocks as David started spending more time with Rebecca, who showed him around Spain.

Rebecca, who’s now married to Dr Sven Christjar Skaiaa and has two kids, says that David is creating the impression that she was trying to hurt Victoria.

“He is indirectly suggesting that I’m the one who has made Victoria suffer,” she says.

The morning after the docuseries was released, Rebecca woke to reporters contacting her for comment.

Only then did she watch the series, she says,

“And the worse bit for me is that he says he didn’t like seeing his wife suffer. That bothered me. Because he’s the one that’s caused the suffering. He could have simply said that 'this was a tough time and I don’t want to talk about it’.”

Rebecca has been living in Norway for the last 14 years and works as a yoga instructor and medical assistant.

She was aware of the docuseries but thought it would only be about David’s football career.

“I think it’s one thing to keep your private life to yourself. It’s another thing to mislead the public. And so many people had forgotten about all of this. So many people put all this behind them, this whole affair, the scandal and everything. And he’s dragged it back up again in a way that is affecting my reputation,” she said.

When news of the alleged affair broke, David denied the allegations.

“During the past few months, I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life. What appeared this morning is just one further example,” he said at the time. “The simple truth is that I am very happily married. I have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change these facts.”

Rebecca sold her side of the story to the tabloids in 2004.

She said it had started with flirting and touching and progressed to meet-ups in David’s hotel.

“I think the problems were in their marriage long before I came into the picture. I in no way intended to break up their marriage especially when there are young children involved. I hope they stay together,” Rebecca said at the time.

In a 2013 interview Rebecca said she should’ve done things differently.

“I’m a mother now and married and knowing what I know now I would definitely have gone about things quite differently,” she said.

“I was young and foolish and very reckless. I didn’t think things through and acted on impulse a lot. I think I regret the impact on everybody. I think I could have gone about it in a kinder way. I don't regret speaking out but I regret the way I went about it.”

In 2017 she met her now husband on a reality TV show and has since lived a low-profile life with her family.

“I was very sorry for what I had done and the way I handled it – but life’s biggest mistakes are the best lessons learned.”
