She has her hands full with a six-year-old, a newborn and various other business – but that hasn’t stopped Serena Williams from launching a new beauty brand inspired by her illustrious career.
The tennis champ’s makeup line, Wyn Beauty, a play on the word win. The beauty brand focuses on clean, long-lasting formulas and comes in vibrant green packaging, reminiscent of a tennis ball.
“The entire collection is authentic to who I am – from the clean formulas and long-wearing to the inspiring shade names to the chartreuse packaging that pays homage to my career in tennis,” Serena told Vanity Fair.
“It’s like my tennis ball kind of evolved into this beauty [line], just bringing that championship mentality [into] everyday life.”
Serena says she battled with makeup throughout her career and often couldn’t find the right shade for her skin tone.
“When I was travelling 20 years ago, brands didn't offer 40 shades. Many products weren't made for black skin,” she recalls.
“I never wanted to fit into a box. I don't look like anyone else and never will. I was one of the first athletes [in tennis] that had a differently shaped body. I felt I've pioneered in so many different ways, so I wanted to include beauty in that.”
Her collection features 10 products – a tubing mascara, skin tint, waterproof liquid eyeliner, brow and eye pencils, a soft matte concealer in 20 shades, matte and satin lipsticks, hydrating lip serum and a gel-cream SPF 30 skin tint in 36 shades.

The 42-year-old former athlete has previously spoken about how becoming a mom shifted her views on beauty.
“Motherhood has allowed me to look at beauty through the eyes of my daughter, Olympia. We're always experimenting with makeup together, and I think about how these moments will be part of both of our beauty journeys.”
Serena hopes her children, Olympia (6) and Adira (7 months), are inspired by her.
“I also hope my daughters see how many different passions I have – from tennis to beauty – and learn that they can lead dynamic careers and lives across their many interests,” she says.
