Actress Tia Mowry has some empowering words for new moms: take your time when it comes to losing the baby weight.

The 42-year-old Family Reunion star recently took to Instagram to announce she’s lost 30 kilos since giving birth to her second child, daughter Cairo Tiahna Hardrict, in 2018.

“I'm very proud that I did it my way and in my time. I didn't feel rushed to snap back,” she told her fans.

Her secret? Well, no biggie here. She simply did regular workout sessions and ate healthy.

She then advised women not to bow to societal pressure and to do “what makes you proud”.

“I enjoyed breast feeding and spending quality time with Cairo and my son Cree. To all the women who are feeling pressured after birth. Do YOU! Do what makes YOU proud and do it in your time. Not anyone else's.”

Last year the Sister, Sister star, who is married to actor Cory Hardict (40), spoke out about how she was fat-shamed during and after her second pregnancy.

“I was called fat during my pregnancy and I was called fat after my pregnancy. Why do we do this to each other?' she wrote on Instagram.

“Do I have loose skin and stretch marks? YES. Guess what?? I LOVE all me and I want you to love all of you too.”

She previously revealed how after the birth of Cree in 2011, her stomach “didn't all of a sudden go flat”.

“I did have a c-section (as well as with my second pregnancy) and I thought something was wrong with me,” she wrote in a separate post.

“I had seen in magazines the many women on the beach a few weeks postpartum in a two piece.

“To be honest, it had to take time for me to embrace my new body. With this second pregnancy, I now have embraced the fact that I’ve housed a human being.”

Amen sister.
