Tiffany Haddish has addressed her arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) after she allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel of her car while the engine was running.

“This will never happen again,” the Girls Trip actress told Entertainment Tonight.

The 43-year-old actress and comedian was arrested by police after her car blocked a street. Apparently her Tesla had self-parked after she passed out.

A source close to the actress told the Daily Mail that she is full of regret and is relieved that no one was hurt by her mistake.

The source also said that Tiffany, who was arrested last year on a drunk driving charge, is adamant that she doesn’t have a booze problem and is willing to work hard to shut down any such rumours.

Her arrest took place after her stand-up set at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood and less than 24 hours later, she was back on stage performing another stand-up set.

Asked by an audience member what happened with her arrest, Tiffany replied, "You tell me".

"I had prayed to God to send me a man with a job, career, preferably in a uniform, and God answered my prayers," she quipped.

The joke is similar to the one she made after her first DUI-related arrest in January, three months after her relationship with actor and rapper Common (51) ended.

The couple began dating in 2020 during the Covid pandemic and broke up a year later. At the time Common said that once the world started opening up again, their schedules got too busy to sustain their romance.

“I think once Tiffany and I got back on the move, it really didn't allow for us to spend as much time and put as much energy into our relationship,” he told Hollywood Unlocked.

Common started dating singer and actress Jennifer Hudson (42) last year, eight months after he and Tiffany split.

Tiffany previously shared that their relationship was the healthiest and funniest she's ever had and insiders say she hasn't been the same since the breakup.

After her prayer joke made its rounds, the Afterparty actress posted a video on her Instagram which has since been deleted.

In the video, a seemingly intoxicated Tiffany gained entry to a party after some begging. She later said that she was only allowed in because she was “famous” and that her friends were still out in the parking lot.

The video and her latest arrest have sparked concern among her friends and fans who say she's hiding her heartbreak behind a fake smile.

However, her latest arrest has been a wake-up call.

“She doesn't want this to define her or have people think she needs help. She made a mistake, and it is not because she has an alcohol problem. It was just a bad thing that she got herself into and she is working on moving on from it,” a source says.

Tiffany is now tackling her “mistakes” head-on and will be getting the right lawyers to help her.

"I'm going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries," she said.
