She felt a sense of relief when she walked out of the Cape Town magistrate’s court, glad that her nearly 18-month-long legal drama with her ex was over.

After spending hundreds of thousands in legal fees and facing a barrage of public criticism, Monique Muller was ready to put it all behind her and move forward.

But her relief was short-lived: that same day she and TV personality Katlego Maboe reached an agreement to drop their legal action against each other, social media exploded – just as it did when all the drama began. And Monique was the target once again.
