Her life once consisted of glitzy parties where she rubbed shoulders with celebrities and politicians, where transport was a private jet dubbed the Lolita Express and home was either a villa on a Carib­bean island, a mansion in Florida or a fancy flat in London.

But that world fell apart for Ghislaine Maxwell when the authorities finally caught up with her in July 2020 and her life was suddenly confined to a tiny prison cell in one of New York’s most notorious jails.

And prison will be her home for the next 20 years after she was recently sentenced for the role she played in trafficking underage girls for billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
