The odds were heavily stacked against her when she was born at just 22 weeks and four days, weighing just 515g – a little more than a brick of butter.

Doctors didn’t think she’d survive and her parents were told to prepare for the worst.

But a lot has changed in the years that followed. Allegra Lategan is 12 now – and in her first year of high school.
