She spent eight months in a prison cell before she was sentenced to 25 years for masterminding the killing of her husband – and shortly before she was sentenced, she poured out her heart on several sheets of paper, admitting she’d been behind Leon Brits’ murder and how she would forever regret it.

“I made the biggest mistake of my life taking the law into my own hands,” Suretha Brits (31), who entered a plea bargain with the state, writes.

“To all my family and most importantly my children, I’m incredibly sorry.”
