This rescue pup is taking the internet by storm – one photoshoot at a time.

One-year-old Princess Jasmine’s fluffy white coat and natural ability to pose for the camera has caught the eye of many local businesses and even international brands.

It all started after her owner, Evashnie Govender (38), who is originally from Durban but now lives in Pretoria, started posting adorable images of her precious pooch on social media.

Evashnie is still surprised by the amount of love and attention the goldendoodle has received.

“It’s phenomenal to just see the love that everybody has for her,” Evashnie says.

“The photos of her and the reaction they get – she’s so gorgeous. I’m really so lucky to have such a gorgeous dog.”

Evashnie, a statistician, rescued Jasmine a year ago after one of her friends told her the pup and her siblings were living in poor conditions at a house in Chatsworth.

“Jasmine was kept in an open area with other pups. It was a very sad situation. She was badly matted and undernourished and she was covered in fleas and ticks.

“The house didn't look good either. I think it had to do with underhand breeding because two weeks later another two pups were available.

“Those pups, I managed to get a home for them and they were taken such good care of but they died a month later."

Jasmine, however, is thriving and is living with Evashnie’s mom, Cookie, and her brother, Sershan, in Durban. She's also been travelling a lot between Pretoria and Durban for photoshoots after Evashnie started posting pics of her on social media

I started taking random photos of Jasmine for my page and I saw she photographed very well. The likes and comments I got were great, so I created her Instagram page and from there she’s just got so much attention.”

Since then, Jasmine has appeared in numerous advertisements, including for Acana foods, local business Lindie-Loe Interior Décor and international brand Build-A-Bear.

“I did the photos myself for Lindie-Loe Interior Décor as well and they just exploded in terms of response and traction.

“She does ads for small stores as well. Jasmine isn't getting paid for this but the stores have said they get a lot of enquiries and traffic into their stores as a result of her," Evashnie says.

“She’s a real poser. I think she has a natural-born talent for it."

Jasmine celebrated her first birthday recently surrounded by her close fur friends and was thrown a pink-themed party complete with party packs filled with doggy treats.

“I decided to have a big braai and it was such a success. Everybody was at the dog's birthday!

“The number of presents she got, it was just fantastic."

Evashnie now hopes Jasmine can continue doing more modelling gigs.

“I'd like for her to be a model for small local businesses. She could really help promote them and make a difference."
