It's the kind of thing no parent can comprehend and it was no different for the close-knit community of Nirvana when they heard about the kidnapping of four children from their neighbourhood.

It seemed unthinkable that four teenage boys would be snatched by seven heavily armed men on their way to school without so much as a trace even days after they were taken.

Yet, as South Africans well know, this is what happened to Zidan (6), Zia (15), Alaan (13) and Zayyad (11) Moti, on 20 October.
