At the age of 79 you’d expect him to be pottering around at home, spending time with his grandchildren and enjoying the tranquillity of his twilight years.

But Clive Bartmann is nowhere near calling time on his working life – in fact, he was so determined to keep going he performed a dramatic pivot, going from a retired pilot with years of experience under his belt to a trainee lawyer, starting right at the bottom of the pile.

Now a desk firmly planted on the ground is his workplace, a far cry from the cockpit several kilometres above terra firma that used to be his “office” for decades.
