A young woman has tragically died after three sharks attacked her during a family vacation in the Bahamas, according to reports.

Jordan Lindsey (21) from California in the US, was snorkeling with her mother and another family member in the waters near Rose Island when she was encircled by three sharks, Sky News reports.

Panic-stricken relatives reportedly spotted the sea-creatures and attempted to warn Jordan by yelling, but they were too far away so she couldn’t hear them.

Jordan’s father, Michael, said her right arm was ripped off and she also suffered bites across her legs, left arm and buttocks, according to ABC News.

“She [Jordan’s mother] said it happened so fast. My wife got to Jordan and pulled her to shore by herself,” the devastated dad says.

The environmental communications student was rushed to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

In a statement to the media, Michael said she’ll be dearly missed, Independent reports.

“We already miss her so much. She was so caring and she loved all animals. It’s ironic that she died due to a shark attack,” Michael says.

Jordan’s younger sister started a GoFundMe page to help cover her funeral costs.

“Jordan Lindsey was a beloved daughter, sister, girlfriend, and friend,” the page stated.

“On June 26, 2019 she tragically died from a shark attack in the Bahamas. Jordan had the most beautiful, gentle soul and she’ll be missed deeply.”

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation sent the family their sincerest condolences in a statement.

“The Ministry of Tourism, on behalf of the government and the people of The Bahamas expresses its condolences and deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of the victim of Wednesday’s shark attack off Rose Island”

An investigation into the incident ongoing.
