The pooper, the trouper and the Tinder date that caused a stink

accreditation

In the annals of worst first dates, this unfortunate incident must be near the top of the list.

Imagine seeing your date stuck in your window while clutching a pile of her poop in her hand.

Well, that’s exactly what Liam Smith was confronted with while on a date with a woman he met on Tinder early in August.

After grabbing a quick bite to eat, Liam and his date decided to watch a not-so-romantic Scientology documentary at his house. About an hour into the chill session, the woman got up to use the bathroom. It all went downhill from there.

"She returned with a panicked look in her eye and told me she had something to tell me,” Liam a post-graduate student at Bristol University wrote on his GoFundMe Page.

Apparently, his date had needed to do a number two but her poop was so large it simply wouldn’t flush down the loo – which left the unnamed woman in panic mode.

But she quickly thought of a plan – she wrapped the big load in a piece of toilet paper and chucked it out of the bathroom window.

After realising what she had done, the guilt-ridden woman confessed her smelly predicament to Liam, who bravely came to her aid.

But things went from bad to worse in a matter of seconds. The pair realised that they couldn’t walk outside to get the smelly deposit because the poop had become wedged between two non-opening windows.

“It was into this twilight zone that my date had thrown her poo," Liam says.

He suggested breaking the window to get to the excrement but the woman refused and insisted on climbing head first through the window to clean up her mess.

"Unfortunately she couldn't reach," Liam says. "She climbed further in and had the same problem.”

After seeing she was having a hard time, Liam decided to give her an extra boost up through the window. Luckily she managed to bag up the mess, pass it to Liam who then successfully flushed it down the loo.

But that’s not how the date ended. Oh no!

“She called out to me to help her climb out from the window. I grabbed her waist and I pulled. But she was stuck. Stuck fast. Try as we might, we could not remove her from the window,” Liam says.

After about 15 minutes of pulling and tugging, Liam had to phone the fire brigade and they managed to free the woman from the window.

“We received a call at 22:41 to one female trapped between interior and exterior glass,” a spokesperson for the fire brigade department told BBC News.

The firemen had to break the window and Liam now has to cough up more than R6 000 to repair the shattered glass. He’s set up a GoFundMe page to cover his expenses.

Well, as for a future date between the two? Heroic Liam is still keen to meet up with the woman again – despite the smelly incident!

“She’s a lovely girl. I’m not sure what’s going to happen. I’m really busy with my dissertation at the moment but I’d certainly be open to seeing her again,” he says.

What a guy!
