These baby names have been quite popular during the pandemic.
The coronavirus pandemic has impacted many spheres of life and is even playing a role in name selection for new babies.
A survey done by ChannelMum.com found that during the global lockdown, prospective parents are choosing positive-sounding names and avoiding those with tones that remind of the coronavirus.
The results revealed virtuous names like Faith, Hope, Charity, Patience and Constance are popular with moms and dads.
Names like Iris, Indigo and Blue are also highly favoured choices, The Sun reports.
Violet, a name closely associated with Indigo, isn’t as desirable because it sounds similar to the “virus.”
According to the Mirror, the results indicate that names such as Corah, Corina and Rona are being left in the dust because they’re too similar to the name of the virus.
Names like Lockie and Lochlan are also not doing very well due to their link to lockdown.
Hero names and “secure” names are on the rise, honouring essential workers and offering security for families.
Some popular hero names such as Avery, Bravery and Maverick are top considerations, while Haven and Harbour are rising in the ranks as “secure” names.
Seems we’re experiencing a genesis of happy heroes and encouraging angels for the next generation.
