Is baby Archie the world’s loneliest toddler?
According to an insider, his mother, Meghan Markle (38), is worried the one-year-old is not having enough interaction with other children his age.
Most tots would be enrolled in play groups by now, however with the global pandemic all such activities have been banned.
“Meghan said Archie needs to learn emotional and social skills by being around other young children, something he can't do with adults,” the friend told the Daily Mail.
Meghan and Prince Harry (35) have been holed up with their son at the mansion of entertainment mogul Tyler Perry in Los Angeles since March.
We can only assume apart from occasional visits from his grandmother, Doria Ragland (63), he hasn’t been exposed to too many people or other kids.
However the friend adds that while Meghan would love him to be part of a mommy and baby group where she could organise play dates with other kids, she understands it would be “impossible” because, well, she’s just too famous.
“She knows this is impossible even if there was no Covid-19 because of who she is. She said she’s just too well known to do normal things.
“Meghan does take advantage of connecting with others online and on Zoom, but says it’s just not the same as in person.”
Compare this to her equally famous sister-in-law. Kate Middleton (38) apparently had no qualms enrolling her children in toddler groups before they went to nursery school.
Last year she signed her youngest, Prince Louis (now 2), up for a musical toddler playgroup where classes are led by a monkey puppet who asks moms to sing and dance along with their babies.
According to the Mail on Sunday the duchess would get “stuck in” during the sessions.
In their bid to give all three their kids as normal an upbringing as possible, Kate and William (38) to try and get involved in as many things with them as possible.
They are clearly not too famous to do the school run for Prince George (6) and Princess Charlotte (5) and they regularly attend school parent events.
Likewise, Harry and William’s mother, the late Princess Diana, was also known for her hands-on approach when it came to her sons’ schooling.
She too dropped her kids at school – something virtually unheard of at the time – and she was famously pictured taking part in a mom’s race in 1989 at William’s school.
Perhaps Meghan could have a thing or two to learn from these royal wives?
