Co-parenting isn't always easy, but Dara Huang says jointly raising her son with Princess Beatrice is a piece of cake.
Beatrice is stepmom to Christopher ‘Wolfie’ Woolf (8), her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's son from his ex fianceé, Dara Huang.
In a recent interview, the 41-year-old American architect gave rare insight into her co-parenting relationship with the royal.
“I feel lucky to have such positive people around him, who really embrace him – because it didn’t have to be so easy,” Dara says.
“Wolfie has had two sets of parents trying to help him on both sides and I just think, the more, the merrier."
Though a blended family takes work, Dara believes it helps if parents put their issues aside and put their kids first.
“It’s about creating a happy home and lifestyle,” she says.
Beatrice (35) and Edo (40) are also parents to daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, who they welcomed in 2021. According to royal insiders, the princess doesn't treat the kids differently and is “a wonderful and very hands-on stepmom”.
Beatrice has in the past spoken warmly about her relationship with Wolfie, saying they love reading the Oi Frog book series by Kes Grey and Jim Field at bedtime.
“My stepson and I eagerly look forward to receiving the books and going through them together,” she said at the Oscar’s Book Prize last year of which she is a patron.
She revealed that Wolfie was being home-schooled.
"Helping him to engage with stories is a great journey to inspire imagination, creativity, independence and humour,” she added.

Wolfie has been spotted with the princess at royal family events including Kate Middleton's Christmas concert in 2023, Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee Pageant in 2022 and their annual walk to church on Christmas Day in 2022.
He was also part of the royal's wedding retinue in 2020 at the Royal Chapel of All Saints, Royal Lodge, Windsor.
Beatrice became the first member of her generation of the British royal family to step into the role of a step-parent when she exchanged vows with businessman Edo.
"This year, I had the great honour to become a stepmother and have had the most remarkable time,” she said at the time.
