Prince Albert of Monaco has enjoyed another trip around the sun – and the ruler of the small principality spent his 66th birthday with his wife and children.
Albert was joined on the Pink Palace balcony by an elegant Princess Charlene and their twins, Gabriella and Jacques, as they celebrated his special day.
Well-wishers, palace employees and tourists waved miniature Monaco flags when he later cut his giant birthday cake in the town square just outside the palace.

“We’re like a family and we love him. We don’t necessarily come every year, but it was important for us to be here. He needs our support," said one of the locals.
Franck Lobono, a member of the National Council, added, “It’s vital that we show him our support, especially at a time when he is the victim of a painful betrayal. The Monegasque people stand with him.”
The betrayal he’s referring to involves Claude Palmero, the prince's former accountant, who divulged intimate details about the royals' spending habits.
Claude, who handled the royal coffers for 20 years, claimed the family, particularly Princess Charlene, spends money lavishly and needs to be bailed out constantly.
He also alleged Albert has a private bank account that he uses to pay his former mistresses and their children.

Though Gabriella and Jacques (both 9) joined their parents to greet the crowds, Albert's children from previous relationships, Jazmin Grace Grimaldi (32) and Alexandre Grimaldi (20), weren't present during the official festivities.
