She’s the mom of two gorgeous little girls but Zara Tindall has endured her share of heartache in her motherhood journey.

The queen’s granddaughter (39) had two miscarriages after giving birth to her first daughter, Mia, in 2014. In December 2016, Zara and husband Mike Tindall announced a pregnancy that had already been made public had ended in heartache. She lost another baby before she and Mike went on to welcome their second daughter, Lena (2).

Zara was one of the first members of the royal family to publicly address the issue of miscarriage – a tragedy often kept quiet as parents grieve in private for a child that would never take its first breath.
