Gary Goldsmith, the wild uncle of Kate, Princess of Wales, is getting real about his famous sister and the Sussexes on the new UK season of Celebrity Big Brother.

The controversial brother of Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, who is one of the 13 contestants in the reality show, predicts Prince Harry will return to the royal fold despite his many public attacks on the monarchy.

“I think at some point Harry’s going to come back and be part of the gang – he might need to,” the 58-year-old businessman told his housemates, including reality star and talk-show host Sharon Osbourne.

“I think we’re a very forgiving nation. I think everyone would give him a chance.”

Gary, who runs a recruitment business, has long been known as the Middleton clan's most contentious member.

He's admitted that he's known as the family’s “buncle” or “bad uncle,” because he's been married four times, dabbled in drugs and been arrested for assaulting his wife during a drunken argument.

Despite all his drama, he was among the guests at Kate’s wedding to Prince William in 2011.

Being the loose cannon he is, he was reportedly given strict orders by his sister not to dish out any royal secrets on Big Brother UK – but it's clear he has no plans to hold back.

He shared his opinion on Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, saying that before she came along, Harry, his brother Prince William and Kate were “a threesome who looked really comfortable together”.

“Then suddenly there’s an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes, and creates so much drama that I don’t genuinely think was there.”

However, he says it's unfair what Harry has done since leaving the royal family, referring to the allegations Harry's made about his family in the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan and in his memoir, Spare.

“You can’t throw your family under the bus, write books about it, and then expect to be invited around for Christmas.”

He went on to lavish praise on Kate, calling her “a perfect human being” and saying that her dedication to her family and work is admirable.

Kate was spotted for the first time earlier this week after undergoing abdominal surgery in January that has seen her take a break from her royal duties as she recovers.

The mom-of-three was seen being driven by her mother near her home on the Windsor Estate. She wore dark round sunglasses and had a serious expression.

Kate has been leaning heavily on her parents, who live close by in Bucklebury, Berkshire, during her recuperation.

Her last public appearance was on Christmas Day when she was seen heading to church at Sandringham with the rest of the royal family.

She is expected to return to her royal duties after Easter.
