She’s known for always putting duty first and Kate, Princess of Wales, appeared to do just that when she stepped out at the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London last night.
The 41-year-old mom of three showed no sign of tension following a drama-filled week for the royal family that saw her and King Charles named as the senior royals who had expressed “concerns” about the colour of Prince Archie’s skin ahead of his birth in 2019.
Instead, Kate was all smiles as she dazzled in a stunning teal caped gown by London-based designer Safiyaa, which she teamed with Gianvito Rossi heels, pearl and crystal J Crew earrings and a bejewelled Jenny Packham clutch.
She was accompanied by a dapper-looking Prince William and their guests, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, and her husband, Prince Daniel.
Neither Kate nor William addressed the scandal that erupted this week which saw Omid Scobie’s book Endgame pulled from the shelves in Holland after the Dutch version named Kate and King Charles as the senior "racist" royals Meghan Markle hinted at in her and Harry’s tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021.

Instead, the royals were seen chatting and joking with fellow VIP guests and performers who included singers Rick Astley, Zara Larsson, Paloma Faith and pop icon Cher.
Royal sources say the monarchy is “utterly dismayed” after UK presenter Piers Morgan named the two senior royals on his Talk TV show.
Many royal commentators have slammed it as “spiteful” and “nasty'”.
The royal family is apparently “considering all options” which may include legal action.
The blunder has been put down to a “translation error” but Omid is adamant that he never named the two in his book.

The former royal journalist swore “on his life” on BBC 2's Newsnight that it was not a publicity stunt to boost book sales.
He added that he was “hurt” by suggestions that he's in cahoots with the Sussexes, declaring, “It couldn’t be further from the truth”.

He said he was “as frustrated” as everyone else and said a full investigation was underway to find out how the names were included. He said he wrote only the English-language version of the book.
However one of the Dutch translators told Mail Online that the names of the royals “were there in black and white. I did not add them.”
Scobie told the BBC he “found out on social media” about the controversy surrounding the Dutch translation, adding, “All of this is frustrating because it feeds into something that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“And also, quite frankly, I’ve always felt the names weren't needed to have this discussion.”
