This adorable tot has the queen’s royal wave down pat.

Three-year-old Isla Bates from Ashton-in-Makerfield, England, has been taking up several engagements recently to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s platinum jubilee.

The tot visited residents at the Ashland’s Manor Care Centre, where she planted trees in the home's gardens as part of the queen’s Green Canopy tree-planting initiative, and strutted down the red carpet to show off her rather regal wave to the elderly.

“I've loved being a mini-queen and helping to plant all of the trees,” Isla says. “I like waving and making the residents smile.”

Isla asked her mom, Alex Fairhurst, to help choose her outfit for the occasion. The youngster wore a salmon-pink coat and hat, off-white little heels, pearls, and had a toy Corgi which she carried along with her everywhere.

“It's a real privilege for Isla to be involved in the platinum jubilee, and by planting the tree she's playing her part in improving the environment and leaving a lasting legacy at each one of our care homes across the UK,” mom Alex says.

“She has especially loved dressing up as the queen, perfecting her royal wave and making our residents smile.”

Ashland Manor’s home manager, Isobel Scott, says the elderly were delighted by the little girl’s visit.

“The residents were thrilled to have a mini-queen for the day, and enjoyed watching the tree being planted.

“There were smiles all round and I'm sure the residents will talk about the ‘royal engagement’ at Ashland’s Manor for a while!”

So far, Isla has already visited more than 12 nursing homes in Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Nottingham – the care homes are run by New Care, a company for which Alex works.

To kick off the jubilee festivities, which will take place in June, the 96-year-old monarch recently revealed her star-studded line-up of performances for the celebration. Legends such as Diana Ross, Queen and Adam Lambert, Duran Duran, Alicia Keys, and Sir Rod Stewart will all be taking the stage at The Platinum Party at Buckingham Palace.

Ross is said to be “absolutely delighted to receive an invitation to perform on such a momentous and historic occasion”.

“I've had the honour of meeting the queen many times throughout my life, including when I was with my family,” she added.

“Her Majesty has and continues to be such an incredible inspiration to so many across the world.”
