If there is anything the Covid-19 pandemic has taught us it’s that every now and then something you have no control over will come along and throw you for a loop.
A national survey conducted by pharmaceutical company Pharma Dynamics shows 56% of South Africans are now experiencing higher levels of emotional and psychological distress than they did before the coronavirus came along and ripped the carpet out from under our feet.
The results, released earlier in October to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month, revealed that 53% of the more than 1 200 polled respondents had either lost their job, had to take a pay-cut or were forced to close a business after lockdown began in March.
