Lockdown nuptials: Cape Town couple celebrate lockdown wedding with novel ceremony

These two lovebirds found a creative way to celebrate what would’ve been their wedding day.

With the couple from Cape Town’s big day upended by the coronavirus, the groom decided to get creative and throw his bride a DIY Covid-19 wedding.

On 21 March, popular YouTuber and filmmaker Dan Mace (29) tested positive for the coronavirus, and to make matters worse, that was also the day that he and his fiancée, Gabi Esterhuizen (27), were due to get married.

Having to make the difficult decision to postpone their wedding, creative Dan decided to turn the couple’s house in Constantia into a makeshift wedding venue.

He secretly spent the entire night before crafting his own alter, wedding banner and every guest from cardboard, which meant Gabi was able to awoke to a beautiful, DIY lockdown wedding.
