Do you prefer a short, sharp, invigorating shower or a long soak in a soothing bubble bath? Whatever your choice here’s how to make the most of your cleansing ritual
SHOWER
Use a body brush on dry skin before you get into the shower. Start at the bottom of your feet and work upwards, then from the hands towards the shoulders and on your torso in an upward direction. Body-brushing gets rid of dead skin, increases blood circulation and helps your body to eliminate toxins.Use a body exfoliator before you shave to prevent dead skin cells clogging your razor blade.Shower gels and body washes are generally softer on your skin than soap.BATH
Make the most of your time in the bath by using a face mask while you soak. The average temperature for bath water should be just warmer than your body temperature (normal is 37 °C). Water that’s too hot can raise your heart rate.Add fresh herbs and flowers (such as lavender or roses) to your bath.
