Make sure at least one cell phone within the vehicle is fully charged for the duration of the journey.

Obstructions
Make sure there are no objects blocking the rear-view mirrors.

Rest
If you are able, take turns at driving. If this is not possible, then make stops to rest, every two hours or so. This might seem like an inconvenience, but it is worth your while. A rested driver is a safe driver.
