3 Relationship Fights and How to Solve Them

accreditation
Problem: Communication
Read our article 5 Bad Habits that Ruin Good Relationships? Great.  Now, go back and take a look at this one, as well as this one. Notice the trend? Poor understanding is probably thee greatest cause of couples drifting apart and marriages ending in divorce.

Easy fixes:
•    If spending time alone together means implementing an actual weekly date night ritual, then do it. Switch your phone off, get a babysitter and simply enjoy each other’s company and conversation.

•    Always say how you feel without raising your voice, but think before you start pointing fingers.

•    And always listen, respect and compromise – without throwing insults, blaming or going off point.

Problem: Sex
Don’t be ashamed if your troubles are sex-related. Our relationship experts are inundated with readers looking for advice about everything from sexual health concerns and incompatibility, to low desire and even orgasm difficulties.

Easy fixes:
•    Make sex – or intimacy or togetherness – a priority. Add ‘being sexy’ to your to-do list where you put extra thought into, say, dressing up. Once a week, make it a point to stash those comfy cotton jammies in the back and slip into something lacy.

•    Discover what turns you (and your man) on and work with it.

•    Mix things up with new positions, new places and etc... Variety is, after all, the spice of life. Right?
•    If necessary, get professional help and educate yourself.

Problem: Money
A good friend once told me that it’s not the SUM of money that feeds tension in relationships, but rather, the personal concept or idea of how it should  get used (whether you should be spending or saving).

Easy fixes:
•    Draw up a budget together.
•    Don’t point fingers.
•    Be open about your financial standing (and vice versa) and discuss ways of improving it if it is an issue.
•    Compromise, allow for financial independence and understand that you may have different beliefs when it comes to spending and saving habits.
