  • After writing it down on her vision board, Pauline Moeketsi met the man of her dreams on a dating app.
  • Two months later, they officially started dating, and she knew for sure that he was the one she had been waiting for.
  • A year and a half later, Siyabonga Tembe has proposed to her, and she said 'YES.'

At the beginning of 2020, Pauline Moeketsi was clear about what she wanted—to be in a serious relationship with the man of her dreams.

"After putting it on my vision board, I knew that it was the year that I was going to meet the man of my dreams," she tells us.

Then an unprecedented lockdown happened, but this didn't dampen her plans. She downloaded a dating app and met Siyabonga Tembe.

"We had to settle for our first date being a virtual date via zoom. We did an online escape room and a couples quiz. When restrictions were lifted, we met in person. We went on a few dates, and after about two months, he asked me to be his girlfriend by surprising me with balloons and cupcakes with the words 'Will you be my girlfriend?' on them. I said YES," she explains.

After they had a virtual date, Pauline says she thought there was something extraordinary about Siyabonga. After their first in-person date, that's when she knew for sure that this was a man she had been looking for.

"I've never felt so at peace with someone. He is intelligent, and he is such a family man. He loves family so much, and it's so great to witness how much he cares for everyone's well-being. He treats me like an egg, and I feel so safe with him, in every sense of the word," the ever-smiling Pauline shares.

After a year and a half, Siyabonga got on one knee and proposed to her.

Pauline turned 31 on 5 January 2022.  "He surprised me by taking me to a private cinema, where there was a red carpet and a beautiful bouquet of flowers. We watched my favourite movie, 'Deja Vu'. When the movie ended, I walked out , he asked me to watch a screen which was in the foyer," she says.

It was a proposal video. Siyabonga had recorded a message for her. "At the end of the video, he asked me to turn around, and when I did, he was on one knee.

"I couldn't hold the tears back, I said, 'of course.'"
