19-year-old former Disney star, Miley Cyrus, announced the news that she’s now engagement to 22-year-old Hunger Games actor, Liam Hemsworth. “I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,” she told People magazine.
Since the duo hooked up back in 2009, they’ve had an on and off relationship, but now it looks like they are getting serious.
Not so long ago, Miley surprised everyone when she tweeted a pic of what looked like an engagement ring on her finger. She later denied that Liam was planning to put a ring on it. Was it a hint to him?
Here’s the thing though, while I respect her right to marry now that she’s an adult, isn’t Miley too young to be tying the knot? She is only 19 years old, and we all know how most relationships turn out in Celebville. What’s the big rush? Marriage comes with a lot of responsibility, not just in front of the cameras, but behind closed doors too.
Sigh. I guess all we can say now is congratulations to the couple.
