It’s her little one’s first Halloween and even though the eight-month-old tot won’t remember it, Princess Eugenie seems to have wanted to make sure he shared in the spooky festivities.
Eugenie (31) posted an adorable snap of her son, August, dressed in a monster costume over the Halloween weekend.
“Wonder what they are talking about,” she captioned an image of the little boy playing with a stuffed Minion, along with an emoji of a pumpkin and a ghost.
The princess and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, welcomed August in February.
It’s unclear whether any of the other royal children got dressed up for Halloween but royal tradition prohibits the family from celebrating the holiday in public. According to royal expert Christina Reeves, it dates back to the early 1800s, when Queen Victoria was in power.
She set a strict code of conduct that required the family to uphold class and sophistication and dressing up for Halloween wasn't viewed favourably.
However, the Duchess of Cambridge is believed to love the occasion. Back in 2007 Kate dressed as a vampire, complete with a black cape and fishnet tights, to a Halloween party hosted by her sister, Pippa. Prior to the pandemic, Kate was spotted shopping for spooky costumes with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
This year the Cambridges were said to be enjoying family time while George (8) and Charlotte (6) were on a mid-term school break. The family, including three-year-old Louis, were spotted at Heathrow Airport in London last week.
Princess Beatrice has also joined in on the Halloween spirit before. In 2018 she donned a unicorn costume when she attended Annabel's Halloween Party in London.
The princess played it safe in a purple wig, colourful unicorn horn and a long black coat over a white ruffled dress.
