Dress the part
Your outfit can make or break you. it’s either you risk taking all the attention from the bride or impressing your guests with your outfit. This is a tricky one because on the one hand you don’t want to downplay yourself and on the other you shouldn’t outstage the bride. The perfect wedding attire would be a smart casual dress in a subtle color and a cute pair heels to match.
Be on time
Arriving twenty minutes late only to start searching for your seat during the wedding proceedings could ruin the moment for a couple that’s about to say ‘I do’. Remember the couple is also depending on you as a guest to make their big day a success. So don’t ruin it by arriving late.
Responsible drinking
Drinking too much can lead to all sorts of ‘situations’ that you may not be proud of; so, pace yourself. The booze may be free, but you don’t have to be the girl that drinks it all! Avoid embarrassing yourself and your date when you get introduced to the family by keeping away from the open bar.
Socialise
Chances are your date will be playing catch up with his old friends and relatives so you might be left sitting by yourself a few times. This is the perfect chance for you to socialise and get to know other people. Your first port of call should be the same people you’re sharing the table with. Who knows? By the end of the end of the night you would have made a few friends or business acquaintances.
Have fun
There must be many reasons why your partner chose you as a plus-one and one of them could be that you’re a fun person. Instead of wanting your date to be by your side the entire evening, join in on the celebrations by enjoying the dance floor with the other guests. Just be careful not to make a scene whilst enjoying yourself.
