She announced the arrival of her baby girl on 14 January 2018. She and her husband, Chris, named their daughter Sana Dinwiddy.

In an interview with TshisaLive, Gail said that things are not the same after having the first baby and that it is a new adventure. The actress also emphasised that as a couple they were both prepared for it. “We know more and are more relaxed,” she said.
