Presidential inauguration

On Saturday, the Loftus Versfeld Stadium was filled to capacity for the presidential inauguration of Cyril Ramaphosa. Excitement was in the air as many were treated to performances by Gigi Lamayne, Reason, Judith Sephuma, Brenda Mtambo, Kabomo, Tshwane Gospel Choir and the SANDF’s marching band. Bonang Matheba’s House of BNG supplied the bubbly. The stars also came dressed to impress in tribal print, as it was also Africa Day.

Africa Day celebrations at Bassline Fest

Meanwhile, others were at Constitution Hill, celebrating Africa Day at the Bassline Fest. This year’s hosts were Bontle Modiselle and Tino Chinyani. Bassline also celebrated their 25th anniversary. There were two stages where people could enjoy the talents of 12 of the continent’s biggest and freshest artists. Headlining this year’s Fest were two of Nigeria’s biggest stars, Asa and Mr Eazi, as well as our very own Buhlebendalo (from The Soil). There was also a live broadcast on SABC2 for those that couldn’t make it.
