The last 5 years of the 2010s decade was big on inclusivity, from beauty and make-up products from brands such as Rihanna's Fenty Beauty and Tracee Lee's Pattern hair care line.

In the new decade, the movement still continues with plus-size model Ashley Graham teaming up with Barcelona's family firm Pronovias, for a plus-size wedding dress collaboration.

Aimed at ensuring all brides find the perfect dress, the inspiration behind this collaboration dates back to 2010 when Ashley had two months to find her wedding dress which she struggled with as her favourite dress came in a size 10 and had a corset.

"I had difficulty finding something that made me feel special, something that would flatter and celebrate my body on one of the most important days of my life. I’m a traditional girl and knew I wanted my gown to reflect that," Ashley told Vogue.

Taking to Instagram, Ashley announced the news by thinking back to her big day and how much she would not change anything except compromising style for size.

"I found a silhouette that I loved, but I had to accept major details I didn’t want because there was nothing in that shape that fit me. And it wasn’t even the right size! We ended up adding a panel to a size 10 dress off the rack so it would fit my 14 frame to make it work."

The range will consist of 15 dresses and a tuxedo, is available in UK sizes 4 to 38 and the price range is between £1,000 (R18 768) to £3,500 (R65 000). "Women should be empowered to be their most confident selves on their wedding day—looking and feeling beautiful—and that’s why it’s important for brands like Pronovias to provide luxurious options in all sizes and styles" she adds.

Having already released plus-size underwear and swimwear ranges, Ashley focused on the fit, shape and style when designing the bridal gown range. "My absolute favourite thing is that there's shapewear in each of the dresses and a built-in bra, so you don't have to think about those two extra pieces on your big day. Everything's built in for you and it's supported," she says. The Ashley Graham X Pronovias collection launches in March.
