Hollywood screenwriter Lena Waithe is reportedly split from her wife, Alana Mayo.

Lena recently announced that she and Alano had ended their relationship after spontaneously tying the knot two months ago in an intimate ceremony in San Francisco, almost two years after they got engaged.

Their wedding was a spur-of-the-moment decision. The Fox television series, Bones, writer explained how the spontaneous nuptials happened when she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"We didn't really make any announcements - we went to San Francisco, we went to the courthouse and got married right in front of the Harvey Milk's bust," Lena said.

And it turns out it was Alana who came up with the idea.

"... we were driving and she was like 'we should get married at that courthouse' and I said 'cool, lets's do it'," the star explained.

Lena has now made shared with statement to E!News saying: "After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways ... We have nothing but support for one another and ask that you respect our privacy during this time."
